Where can I get beer?
You can get beer kegs from many local microbreweries or specialty distributors. Some even offer delivery or pickup directly from the brewery.
Where can I get CO₂?
CO₂ is available from specialty suppliers or at stores that sell home brewing equipment. Idéal Fût et Gaz also offers delivery service across Quebec.
How long does a keg last?
Once opened, a properly stored keg with CO₂ stays good for about 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the beer. Unopened, it can keep for several months. Check the best before date indicated by the brewery.
How many beers are in a 30-liter keg?
A 30L keg is equivalent to about 85 cans of 355ml, or roughly 50 glasses of 20 oz.
Does it taste the same as bottled beer?
Yes, even better. Draft beer is fresh, unaffected by light or oxidation. The CO₂ system also ensures optimal serving with quality foam.
Can I get beer delivered?
Yes. Several microbreweries offer home delivery of kegs. You can also buy and have your own deposit keg refilled.
Is it compatible with craft beer?
Absolutely. Most microbreweries offer their products in kegs of 20L, 30L or 50L. Just check the coupler type. Sankey D is the most common.
How do I clean the system?
We can take care of line cleaning for you, on request. Otherwise, a cleaning kit with hot water and sanitizing solution allows for proper maintenance between uses.
What outlet does the fridge plug into?
Malto fridges plug into a standard 120-volt wall outlet. No special wiring required.
How do I tap a keg?
Place the keg in the fridge, connect the coupler to the keg head, connect the beer line to the tap and the gas line to the CO₂ regulator. You can also follow our installation guide or request our in-home service.
Is it compatible with commercial keg formats (50L)?
Yes. Malto back bars are compatible with standard commercial keg formats, including 50L kegs. Check the product sheets to find the configuration diagrams and compatible keg formats for each unit size.
What certifications do the units carry?
Malto commercial units are NSF and UL certified, two certifications recognized in the food service industry across Quebec and North America.
Can multiple beer lines be installed on the same unit?
Yes. The largest Malto back bars can hold up to 17 twenty-liter kegs and support up to 12 beer lines at once. This allows you to keep surplus kegs cold and ready to connect whenever needed. Our team can advise you on the configuration that best fits your service volume.
What happens if something breaks down during service?
Our field team is available to respond quickly. We understand that in a commercial setting, a breakdown can't wait. Contact us directly and we'll take care of it.
Is installation included?
Installation is an optional service available on request. A specialized technician comes to you to install and start up your system. Nothing for you to figure out on your own.
How long does an installation take?
An installation is generally completed in a single day. However, for projects requiring custom beer towers or specific configurations, additional lead time may be needed before the appointment. Our team will give you a precise estimate based on your project.
Do you offer service across Quebec?
Yes. Through our network of specialized partners, we service all of Quebec, for both residential and commercial installations. No matter where you are, there's a team available to support you.
How much is the delivery fee?
Delivery is free within a 75 km radius of our head office. For the rest of Quebec, the fee is $225 and $325 for other Canadian provinces.
